1:30pm ET | Opening + Ask & Give
2:00pm ET | Panel: Balance is in the Eye of the Beholder

Coming out of a year where many moved to remote, and work and life boundaries blurred, this panel looks to have a deep and vulnerable discussion on finding a work-life balance that fits your life. Dr. Rachel Talton of Synergy Marketing Strategy; Marti Bledsoe Post of a’partently; Holly Koskinen of American Electric Power; and Nikki Stoughton of COTA, share how they have defined balance throughout their personal and professional lives despite society’s standards.

About the Speakers:

Moderator, Dr. Rachel-Yvonne Talton is CEO of the award-winning firm Synergy International Limited, Inc. Synergy’s purpose is to help organizations inspire, connect, and engage with customers to flourish and grow. Synergy uses a unique combination of expertise in brand research and leadership and diversity, equity and inclusion to better understand consumer, employee and community behaviors and leverage opportunities for growth. In addition to Dr. Rachel’s success as an entrepreneur, she is an award-winning published scholar and keynote speaker in the areas of leadership, diversity, employee and consumer engagement and trust.

Dr. Rachel serves on the Board of Directors of the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation, the Akron Community Foundation, as well as JumpStart Inc. She also served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Destination Cleveland, where she chaired the Marketing Committee for six years.

Panelist, Marti Bledsoe Post is the author of Retrofit: The Playbook for Modern Moms, published in fall 2019, and the founder and CEO of a’parently. After a twenty-year marketing strategy career, combining motherhood with executive roles at fast-paced digital agencies, Marti realized the modern workplace wasn’t made to support today’s parents. Marti founded a’parently to achieve parental inclusion via employer-led programming and strategic planning. From executive coaching to training of managers and front-line working parents, the firm combines modern curriculum development and research techniques to create an employee experience that works for working families and benefits their employers.

Panelist, Holly Koskinen is a tenured creative with 15 years experience,  a graduate from the Columbus College of Art & Design, and  currently is a Senior UX Designer for American Electric Power. Her digital UX and brand identity design work has won multiple awards from Graphic Design USA. Holly’s career has taken her through all aspects of the employer spectrum: holding positions in corporate, in advertising agencies, serving as a contractor and briefly working for herself. When her health started to fail at 30, she knew there had to be change; she needed a more balanced approach to living and working in the field of design. She is passionate about wellness, tech, creating beautiful and effective user experiences for customers, analytics, branding and her personal hobby: competitive pinball.

Panelist, Nikki Stoughton is an accomplished, award-winning marketer who has enjoyed working in the Central Ohio area most of her life. Her strength in organization and internal bridge-building took her down a path of leadership and management for strategic and creative marketing projects and that is where she found her comfort and joy. Thanks to Together Digital connections she has found purpose and balance accomplishing what she does best in a way that quite literally benefits all of Central Ohio and Planet Earth. To complement her professional talents she pursued her certification as a Life Coach with the purpose to help other hard-working women find their life/work balance. Because life should always come before work.

5:00pm ET | Ask & Give Breakouts

Attendees will be placed in a dedicated Ask & Give Circle.

One of the fastest ways to experience personal and professional growth is to leverage the power of your peers. Your peers face similar challenges in their roles, and can provide objective advice and perspectives that bosses, employees, and customers cannot. When peers come together to create a professional advisory group, it creates positive peer pressure that keeps you on your toes in a non-competitive space where you can share ideas, solve problems, and support one another.

Professional peer advisory groups, like our Ask & Give Peer Circles, give participants:

  • Support
  • Solutions
  • Connections
  • Accountability
  • Encouragement
  • Shared Experiences
  • Diverse Perspectives
  • A Safe Space to Learn & Grow

“Ask & Give circles are where the real magic of membership happens. I’ve seen real authentic and vulnerable moments transform the lives of members. Whether getting advice on an ask, sharing hard-won experience, or just witnessing the highs and lows of each other’s lives, it’s the one meeting I never want to miss.” – Austin Member, National Ask & Give Circle Chair. and Director of Business Systems at Khoros, Deb de Frietas
