Welcome to another edition of Meet Her, an initiative designed to help you get to know your fellow members and learn how they’re leveraging their Together Digital membership to improve their careers and lives.
(Hint: It’s okay to follow in her footsteps, reach out with questions, or build off what she’s done.)
What she does at her job:
I oversee an amazing organization of nearly 2,000 strong, talented women who are willing to help one another succeed. I lead the day to day business and operations alongside April Greer, Director of Operations while carrying on the mission and the vision of the group alongside our founder, Alaina Shearer.
My goal is to scale and grow our operations and membership offerings to help even more women succeed!
Advice she has to women aspiring to get where she is in her career:
1) Lead with your strengths. Take inspiration from but don’t try to lead just like others. Lead like yourself and trust your instincts.
2) No one is good at everything. Know your weaknesses and limitations. Find people you trust and respect to team up with and fill in the gaps.
3) Follow the Golden Rule.
How she’s leveraged her membership to improve her career & life:
When I was a burnt out CD working 60+ hours while raising two kids, this group gave me the courage to walk away and choose a job that was less demanding and more purpose driven.
I’ve felt less isolated as a woman leader/boss, and Mom. This group was my support system.
Also, because of this group, I have had speaking opportunities, I’ve tripled the size of my network, and been seen and celebrated as a leader in my local community.
Most of all… after years of volunteering for the organization, Alaina asked me to step in and take over while she went on to take over Washington! It’s a job that challenges me, grows, and inspires me to be better every day.
Favorite Slack channel:
#wins for sure.
Whenever I’m down or feel like things won’t go right – I read how our members are seeing success EVERY DAY and it reminds me to keep trying. Maybe today wasn’t my day, but it was hers.
Personal interests & hobbies:
Spending time with my kids riding bikes, hiking, yoga, reading, volunteering, and coaching my daughter’s soccer team.
