Welcome to another edition of Meet Her, an initiative designed to help you get to know your fellow members and learn how they’re leveraging their Together Digital membership to improve their careers and lives.
(Hint: It’s okay to follow in her footsteps, reach out with questions, or build off what she’s done.)
What she does at her job:
Alongside the best CEO, Amy Vaughan, and most inspiring visionary, Alaina Shearer, I’ve ever had the pleasure to work for, I’m responsible for the day-to-day logistics, operations, and finances for Together Digital, its amazing members, and phenomenal chapter boards.
I’m particularly proud of the member value initiatives I’ve launched this year (more coming!) as well as the vast amount of automation I’ve built on the back end to make managing a nearly 2,000 woman organization feasible for our HQ team.
Advice she has to women aspiring to get where she is in her career:
Keep honing in on what your unique value proposition is (what you do best and how that’s different from everyone else in the world) and learn how to share it well with others. Then back it up like crazy.
2nd piece of advice: the world is smaller than you think. Think very very carefully before you burn bridges.
How she’s leveraged her membership to improve her career & life:
Connecting with other members and being authentic and vulnerable. I’ve found friendships across the nation, grown my network exponentially, and increased my visibility as a thought leader and generally amazing human being. I know if I needed a new job next week, I’d have 10+ members immediately talking to their hiring managers about how badly they need me on their team.
I’ve also learned volumes from other members on things like salary negotiation & understanding compensation package and best professional microphones to use as well as picked up SEO best practices and parenting + career tips.
